Watchdog
Founded in 1983, Watchdog Early Learning Centre (Hong Kong) is a pre-school centre for Cantonese and non-Cantonese speaking children with special educational needs (SEN) from new born to the age of six. Watchdog provides intensive and well rounded early intervention and therapy services for these special children, helping them to achieve their full potential at the earliest possible age. The largest single diagnosis of children attending Watchdog is Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Other diagnoses include Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, visual and hearing impairments, global development delays and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Watchdog operates two centers with one in the Hong Kong Island and another in Kowloon, Jordan area. The centers teach children with SEN and prepare them, wherever possible, for entry into the regular school system, advise and train parents in supporting and meeting developmental goals, and provide opportunities for challenged children to develop in all areas. Watchdog also serves as an information provider to “educate” the community about the importance of early intervention and education for children with developmental delays. (www.watchdog.org.hk)
